Lie angle: Lie angle is the angle between the shaft and the ground line that is made when the club head is properly soled.

To determine a starting lie angle, the fitter will prepare a 6 iron by placing lie tape on the sole of the iron. Next, the player will hit a ball off the Tour Edge lie board. When the player strikes the ball (and the lie board), the lie tape indicates where the sole of the club impacted the board. With this information, the fitter can recommend an initial lie angle to use in beginning the dynamic fitting process.

In the dynamic portion of the fitting, we will explain the effects of proper lie angle as it relates to distance and accuracy.
